Ukrainian soldiers train dropping grenades with ‘drone for dummies’

A Ukrainian drone pilot trained on Sunday (June 25) dropped grenades on targets using commercial quadcopters in an undisclosed location in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk.

Equipped with a 3D-printed grenade-drop mechanism, the Chinese-made Mavic 3 Pro is able to be used by Ukraine’s armed forces to drop explosives on the Russian army.

It is a tactic that has been widely by Ukraine adopted since Russia invaded on Feb. 24, 2022.

Drone pilot ‘Mars’, a 49-year-old who refused to give his real name for security reasons, said he found the drone very easy to use.

“Anyone will be able to fly with it. Everything else depends on what you want and how brave you are.”
